What is the P99 Clock Monitor?

The P99 Clock Monitor is a free, community-driven tool that automatically syncs Project 1999 game time from your EverQuest logs to the P99 Clock website. By running this monitor while you play, you help the entire P99 community have access to accurate, real-time game clock information.

We respect your privacy and data security. The monitor only reads your EverQuest log files for system messages (like /time commands) and does not collect any other data from your computer except your local time.

We truly appreciate you donating this data - it's the only way this community project works. Your time sync contributions help thousands of P99 players access accurate game time information.

How It Works

The monitor watches your EverQuest log files for time sync messages
When it finds a game time + earth time pair, it queues it for submission
Rate Limiting: Submits max 1 sync point per hour (the most recent one)
You earn points for each accepted sync contribution
Everyone benefits from accurate time tracking!

Reduces server costs - Keeps the service free for everyone
Still catches server reboots - Reboots typically happen monthly
Efficient - Game time is very predictable, we don't need constant updates
Your newest sync is always used - Latest sync in the hour window is sent

Internet Connection: Required for syncing data
P99 Clock Account: Free account (create at p99clock.vercel.app)
Disk Space: Less than 5MB

Setup Instructions

Choose the installation method that works best for you:

Super simple setup - no Python installation needed!

1Download the Executable

Click the "Download Standalone Executable" button above to get P99ClockMonitor.exe

2Handle Security Warning

Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" - this is normal for new executables:

Click "More info"
Then click "Run anyway"

The executable is safe - it's just not digitally signed.

3Run the Monitor

Double-click P99ClockMonitor.exe to start it.

4Configure Log Directory

The monitor will try to auto-detect your EverQuest log folder. If it can't find it, choose from:

Browse - Opens a folder picker (easiest!)
Type - Enter the path manually
Drag & Drop - Drag your Logs folder into the window

Example path: C:\Games\P99 Green\Logs

5Log In

When prompted, enter your P99 Clock account credentials:

Email: Your account email
Password: Your password

6You're Done!

The monitor is now running! Leave it open while you play EverQuest. When you type /time in-game, the monitor will detect and submit it automatically.

💡 Pro Tip: You can close and reopen the monitor anytime - your settings are saved!

Troubleshooting

This is normal for the standalone .exe!

Click "More info"
Then click "Run anyway"

The executable is safe - it's just not digitally signed (which costs $200/year).

"Failed to connect to API"

Check your internet connection
Make sure p99clock.vercel.app is accessible
Verify your account credentials

"No time syncs detected"

Make sure your log directory path is correct
In-game, type /time to generate a time sync entry
Check that your character has logging enabled

Monitor not starting

Check the log files in the logs/ folder for error messages

Privacy & Security

Only your submitted time syncs are shared with the community
Your email/password is only used for authentication
No other game data is collected or transmitted
All communications use HTTPS encryption
Your account credentials are never stored in plain text
